Panellist
Beyond The Whisper Network
Alathea is a bilingual (French and English) cultural producer, holding a BFA from Concordia University, majoring in art education. Her pedagogical approach focuses on the link between the arts as a means of cultural expression, their use in public space and how this can inform and impact public audiences, or more intentionally, the global community. With over 10 years of work and volunteer experience developing community arts programming, leading cause-driven events, such as Toronto’s MeToo March; or co-curating Toronto’s largest on-road mural jam—the Richmond Street Cycle Track Project—alongside Cindy Scaife and StreetARToronto, Alathea is a natural-born leader equipped with a creative and critical problem-solving lens built for fostering stronger communities. Her work addresses issues of equity, accessibility and the integration of creative placemaking within the city’s day-to-day.
