Mentor Match applications are now open for 2024-2025! Supported by Telefilm Canada,
the Mentor Match program provides WIFT-AT members with access to mentorship by hand-picked industry professionals. The program aims to tangibly increase representation and gender equity within the screen industry in Atlantic Canada and beyond.
About
Selected applicants (mentees) will improve their professional skills and industry knowledge through one-on-one sessions. Potential mentees may be wishing to:
-
Develop their craft through conversations with a mentor
-
Receive advice on establishing a career and achieving personal development goals
-
Gain a better understanding of the industry and the expectations of their chosen or desired career
-
Expand their network and build their confidence
An appropriate Canadian industry professional is hand-selected to become their mentor based on a matching of what they can offer to help this mentee achieve their goals.
This mentor/mentee relationship consists of a minimum of four focused one-on-one sessions over an 8-month period. Mentee participants are also given opportunities to network amongst themselves and with other mentors via mixers and other events.
The WIFT-AT Mentor Match program is open to WIFT-AT members in good standing. To become a member, visit our membership page. Priority is given to Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, People with Disabilities, and LGBTQ2S applicants in keeping with encouraging equity, diversity, and inclusion in all of our programming.
